Zion's Gate Ministries (my home) Let me tell you a little bit about my home.
5 acres
3 buildings
3 toilets (that may or may not flush)
1 outdoor laundry area
2 ice cold showers
12 live in kids, Tony has taken in from Los Pinos
2 dogs
2 cats
& the 24 of us AIM-Passporters

Zion's Gate is a place that Ministers to an extremely poor suburb called Los Pinos.  Tony, Zion's Gates leader is a person who has so much passion for spreading the word of God, he goes to Los Pinos almost everyday and ministers to the street kids.  Many of the kids in Los Pinos use paint thinner to get high.  Tony's mission is to show these boys there is more to living the life they have been living, that they can abandon what they have known and get clean, start going to school. start learning some responsibilities and live with Tony and his wife on the Zion's Gate property.  Tony makes it clear it is their choice, they can leave whenever you want but if they choose to stay they have some rules to abide by.  No drugs or alcohol, no stealing, there are chores to be done and school is a priority.  This may sound simple to us, but it is a hard choice for them.  They have to give everything up they know for the unknown.  Once they make that choice, it is a fight for a new life.  Are you going to fight for a new life?  Are you going to fight against addiction and peer pressure, from friends and family back on the streets?  Are you going to fight the voices in your own head say you're not worth it?  I really is amazing to watch these boys, they are strong and want to be good and make Tony proud.  They are typical boys.  The boys of Zion's Gate join us in ministry each day.

WE WERE CREATED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE

Faith is taking the first step, even when you don't see the whole staircase. – Martin Luther King Jr.

My Week of Teaching Spelling to the kids
This whole week I have been helping teach spelling to 5th through 8th graders.  It has been very rewarding to me, the kids are so cute and eager to learn English.  Teaching allows you to motivate, encourage and challenge tomorrow's leaders.  There is nothing more rewarding than seeing the spark in these children's eyes and his or her passion for a subject grows.  By making a difference in young people's lives, teachers shape the future!  In my mind to be a teacher your heart really needs to be in it and you need to be devoted.  I do have a new respect for all of the teachers out there.  One of my teachers who was/is amazing, "Ms. K.", you are amazing and I know you make a difference in so many lives.

We were making poster for our street ministry, I think we should get everyones attention with the bright poster boards.  I know I'm making a difference.  I know I'm right where I'm suppose to be,  HERE, right next to the Lord.
When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world.  Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."  John 8:12

Praying for him best day ever!
